Requirements, availability and status

National Counties provides mortgages on properties located within England and Wales. We will not consider freehold flats, new build flats, ex-local authority flats, flats above commercial premises or flats where there are more than 4 storey’s in the block.

Our online mortgage service is available for any customers wishing to apply directly for a mortgage on their own home or for a mortgage on a Residential Investment (Buy to Let) property. Applications for additional borrowing or to switch to a new mortgage product are not currently available using our Search and Apply Online service. During the Online mortgage application process we adopt our standard lending criteria. Should the property or your circumstances fall outside our usual requirements, including any additional criteria applying to specific product terms, then it will not be possible to proceed using the Online service and you will need to contact our Customer Centre on 01372 747771 to discuss your circumstances in more detail before proceeding further.

What's involved when you apply online for a National Counties mortgage

Borrowers must be aged 18 years or over and to comply with legislation the Society will need to confirm identity prior to completion of the mortgage. Details of the identification needed will be supplied on request. Loans are subject to valuation and status. Additional security may be required
